As a photographer, I am always editing photographs to give that polished look that my customers are after. I know from growing up in the 1980’s, we all had photo albums and I spent a lot of time with my family looking through them. I also know how treasured these photos are and that they are irreplaceable, many of my own wedding, honeymoon and children’s photos were taken with a camera and I remember getting the film developed at the supermarket or at a chemists. Unfortunately, around 10 years ago, we had a house fire and a lot of our furniture and household items were damaged due to smoke damage. I was pragmatic in the sense that furniture and electrics could be replaced but the photo albums couldn’t and I was absolutely distraught. Luckily we kept the albums in a cupboard so the smoke did not reach them. It was at that point, I realised just how precious our memories are to us. During lockdown, I decided that I would learn how to restore photos and it is one of the most fulfilling parts of being a photographer because I am not recording but repairing those treasured moments to ensure that the photos can be handed down through the generations. Some of the photos that I have held have gone back to 1920 or to the 1st World War and it can feel that I am working with history, which is a massive privilege.

So if you require any photos to be restored/repaired please get in contact with me. I will ask you to send me a copy of the photo to assess the damage and then I can send you an estimate.
